Channel 4 A Place in The Sun fans all say the same thing about 'vile' property

APITS: Viewers brand Italian property 'vile'

Viewers of Channel 4's beloved property series, A Place in the Sun, were left in utter disbelief as host Laura Hamilton unveiled a "cave-like" property to an aspiring buyer.

On Thursday's episode, Laura returned to help Mark from Kent, who was on the hunt for a dreamy Italian holiday retreat. With a budget of £80,000 and his best mate by his side, Mark sought a rustic getaway.

However, the initial property Laura introduced was met with disdain from viewers, who branded it as "vile."

The lack of windows in the house was immediately apparent to those tuning in, reports the Mirror. The interior featured prominently exposed brickwork. Mark shared that he found the property too "crisp and modern" for his taste, yearning instead for something with more historical charm.

Yet, the audience was far from impressed, flocking to Twitter to voice their opinions. One viewer exclaimed: "That's a f*****g cave. Afternoon everybody." (sic)

Another wrote: "Sorry, that is the most vile looking place in the history of vile looking places."

A perplexed fan queried: "Where are the windows?"

The show continued to deliver bewildering options. Laura's second property offering also failed to win over the viewers, much like the first, with its scant windows in both the bedroom and living area.

Despite not being marketed as a studio, the presence of a bed in the living room took Mark by surprise.

Much like its predecessor, the second property in Italy was dimly lit, giving off a grotto vibe that didn't go unnoticed by Mark or the viewers at home. A dumbfounded fan commented during the showing, "Is this the no Windows version or what? #aplaceinthesun."

Another potential buyer said: "A bedroom with no window, I would have to paint a fake window and put curtains up before considering sleeping in there. Now a visitor's bedroom with 4-foot ceiling. And this is a contender." (sic).

One more viewer humorously noted: "Cheap properties in Italy don't have windows. Not so much as 'townhouse' more a cave." And yet another chimed in, jesting: "You'd think Italians were afraid of windows if you relied on this episode."

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 4pm on Channel 4.
