Loose Women's Ruth Langsford opens up on Eamonn Holmes split with Tommy Fury

Ruth Langsford empathises with Tommy Fury over public break-up

Ruth Langsford, host of Loose Women, has candidly shared details of her separation from Eamonn Holmes after their 14-year marriage ended earlier this year.

In an engaging segment on the ITV show on Tuesday (November 12), Ruth, alongside panellists Linda Robson, Katie Piper, and Nadia Sawalha, welcomed former Love Island contestant Tommy Fury to discuss his current split from Molly-Mae Hague.

Tommy, at just 25 years old, was there to plug his fresh release Lightning Can Strike Twice, which notably chronicles his parting from Molly-Mae, also 25, after a five-year romance.

Ruth revealed that the book's launch was postponed so Tommy could include a concluding chapter about the end of their relationship.

The heart-to-heart with Tommy led Ruth to reflect publicly on her own experiences of parting ways with Eamonn.

Addressing Tommy, Ruth remarked: "Nobody could have missed that you and Molly-Mae had sadly broken up. We're all very sad to read that, we all followed this wonderful love story on Love Island", reports the Mirror.

"You have written about it in your book because they delayed the publication of the book for you to write the last chapter.

"You said you don't want to go into detail about it, but how are the two of you doing? And you're obviously co-parenting Bambi.

"It's a tricky time as I know, going through all of these things in public, and everyone has got something to say, without knowing the truth!"

"They really do, that's been the overall thing of the past few months," Tommy said in response.

"I don't listen to anything in the press or social media, because it's all - that's one story apart from the real story. Like I said, moving forward now everyone is entitled to a private life.

"Me and Molly got together when we were very young, and we just think going forward everything should be private now. That's not only what I want for me, but for Bambi, for her sake."

Eamonn and Ruth, who tied the knot back in 2010 and share their son Jack, born in 2002, shocked fans with the announcement of their upcoming divorce in a statement released on May 25, 2024.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV and ITVX
