Midsomer Murders' season finale aired on Sunday November 10, leaving fans distinctly underwhelmed. The much-loved detective series concluded its 23rd season with the fourth episode on ITV.

The latest instalment, entitled "Dress to Kill," followed detectives Barnaby and Winter as they delved into a murder mystery amidst preparations for a charity drag event aimed at supporting a terminally ill teenager. However, the quaint village of Elverton-cum-Latterly was simultaneously gearing up for its beloved dominoes contest, causing an unexpected conflict.

Disgruntled viewers took to social media platforms to voice their criticisms, sharing a common grievance. One viewer expressed their frustration on X, formerly known as Twitter: "It's got nothing to do with who's wearing what. It's got to do with awful GCSE drama acting."

Another viewer lamented: "Worst Woke, Box Ticking episode I've ever watched. Acting was truly horrendous #midsomermurders."

A third chimed in: "#MidsomerMurders has it always been this s****? 2 hours wasted.", reports Birmingham Live.

const loadOvpScript=()=>{let el=document.createElement('script');el.setAttribute('src','https://live.primis.tech/live/liveView.php?s=118222&playerApiId=v118222');document.getElementById('ovp-primis').appendChild(el)};window.top.addEventListener('primisPlayerInit',e=>{try{if(e.detail&&e.detail.playerApiId==="v118222"){if(window.document.getElementsByClassName('jwplayer')[0]){e.detail.float('disable')}}}catch(e){}});window.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded',()=>{setTimeout(()=>{if(typeof flagTcfLoaded!=='undefined'&&flagTcfLoaded===!0){loadOvpScript();ExpressApp.Log('[Load] OVP flagTcfLoaded',new Date())}else{document.addEventListener("tcfLoaded",()=>{loadOvpScript();ExpressApp.Log('[Load] OVP tcfLoaded',new Date())})}},1500)})

Echoing the sentiment, another fan added: "Well, that's two hours of my life I won't be getting back," "Well this an episode I won't be watching again," declared a fourth disappointed viewer.

A fifth viewer harshly critiqued: "The worst episode I've seen and I've seen many more than once."

Another fan pinpointed their issue: "Its not the drag queens making this unwatchable its the plot and s*** acting."

"Bad acting and poor story ...sort it out @itv. Winter is wooden and Fleur is a cliche," another viewer remarked. "This episode is so bad the writing, the acting everything," a fan concluded.

Yet, some viewers were enthused about the episode, expressing their enjoyment on social media: "Well I really enjoyed that! ".
