All Creatures Great and Small star Rachel Shenton cast in role worlds away from drama
Rachel Shenton, known for her role as Helen Herriot in Channel 5's popular period drama All Creatures Great and Small, has secured a new part that is a far cry from her current character.
The actress has been cast in a horror film sequel, according to her IMDb page, where she will reprise her role in The Strangers: Chapter 2. In the movie, Rachel portrays Debbie, the sister of Madelaine Petsch's character Maya.
The first instalment of the series, The Strangers: Chapter 1, was launched in 2024, with the sequel anticipated to hit screens next year, although this remains unconfirmed.
The plot revolves around a young couple, Maya and Ryan, who relocate to the Pacific Northwest for a fresh start. However, when their car breaks down in Oregon, they are forced to stay in a secluded cabin, where they become the targets of three masked strangers. While Ryan meets a tragic end, Maya is hospitalised after sustaining severe injuries. The climax of the film sees her waking up in hospital with one of her attackers at her bedside, leaving viewers questioning her fate.

Speaking about what fans can anticipate from the upcoming sixth series, Rachel told RadioTimes.com: "I like that we've got to play these characters for such a long time that you get to see them at such major milestones in their life, and so she's a had a child, got married and now moved out of her home.
"Now, we're seeing her as a fully-fledged adult, and they're a young family navigating that. I guess seeing a bit more of that would be great, because James has been absent until early on in this season."
Rachel plays Helen Herriot in the popular Channel 5 drama (Image: Channel 5)Nicholas Ralph, who portrays James, shared his thoughts on the character's development. He added: "I think certainly because of that separation and the war, having missed the first four months of little Jimmy's life, I think, yeah, kind of getting back to them being a little family, a little unit, a little team, and seeing a lot more of that. Because we've missed that, the characters have missed that, so it would be nice to see them come back."
*The sixth season of All Creatures Great and Small will air on Channel 5 soon, with the first to fifth seasons available on My5.
