A Place in the Sun guest breaks down in tears as they make emotional admission

A Place in the Sun: Potential buyer emotional over property

Tuesday's episode of A Place In The Sun took an emotional turn when dance teacher Karen was moved to tears at the sight of her first property in Charente, France.

The show featured Karen, joined by her sister Sheila, on a quest for a dream home in South West France within a budget of £210,000, which she also hoped to convert into a yoga studio and gite business.

Property guru Jean Johansson led the sisters through five potential homes. The visit to the first property, set just beyond the central bustle of Charente, brought Karen to tears, as she exclaimed: "Oh my God! It's just gorgeous", further expressing with overwhelm: "Gosh, this is too much!"

Jean asked in response, relieved that they were tears of joy: "What is making you two so emotional? I can really feel it from you both!".

Karen divulged the source of her emotion, admitting: "I think it's just because it's something I've wanted for a long time, it's just what I pictured, it's just beautiful, the views!" to which Jean concurred, acknowledging the emotions: "It's a lot to take in, I agree!", reports the Mirror.

Despite being initially captivated, the realisation that another house overlooked the property soured its appeal for Karen. The search became challenging as none of the following properties seemed to fit the guest's criteria until the final showing.

Overcome by emotion once again, Karen connected deeply with the characterful last property, listed at £256,368, expressing feeling at ease instantly as she admitted: "I'm at home already!"

Peering inside the property, she confessed: "This is too much" as she was utterly "blown away" by the lavish master bedroom and expansive kitchen, not to mention the "special" gite included on the grounds.

However, meeting up the next day, Karen revealed she was not going to make an offer on any of the properties, admitting it was an overwhelming decision to make. Karen revealed her ideal property was in fact the first house but the nearby house was stopping her from putting an offer in.

Expert, Jean, suggested she could get lots of trees to make it more private but Karen insisted she wanted to try and find that property but without the nearby house elsewhere. After hinting it might be difficult to find a house in her budget with that privacy, Jean exclaimed: "I wish you luck!"

A Place In The Sun continues on weekdays at 4pm on Channel 4.
