Strictly's Johannes Radebe says 'I cried' as he makes candid admission after dance-off

Strictly's Johannes Radebe speaks about being in dance-off

Strictly Come Dancing's Johannes Radebe opened up about his tough dance-off experience last weekend, revealing that he began to 'crumble' under the pressure.

He and his dance partner Montell Douglas faced a fierce competition in the dance-off from Sam Quek and Nikita Kuzmin but ultimately wowed judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke with their moving Waltz to Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You during the show's Icons themed week.

They were saved and advanced to the next stage. On Tuesday's It Takes Two episode, an emotional Johannes confessed to host Fleur East that he shed tears at the thought of ending the journey with Montell.

He said: "I found myself crumbling at the thought of not being in the same room with her on Monday and figuring out a dance."

He candidly shared how their relationship evolved beyond teacher-student, saying: "To be honest with you I cried and she was there saying 'it's not over, the music is not over'.

That day the teacher-student dynamic changed completely and I felt like we were partners at that moment and it showed us that we wanted to be here."

Montell expressed her disappointment at finding herself in the bottom two, saying she was "gutted" about the situation. The former Olympic sprinter, who competed for Great Britain in 2008, shared her feelings: "It's never easy for anyone because we worked so hard on our performance and it was a really sad moment thinking that could be the last time we get to dance with each other."

Johannes, visibly moved, added his thoughts: "When they saved us, we couldn't celebrate in that moment because of Nikita and Sam because I do believe that they came a long way in the competition and they are the most improved contestants. It was sad, really really sad but we are glad to still be in the competition.", reports the Mirror.

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One and Strictly: It Takes Two airs weeknights on BBC Two at 6.30pm
