Ex-Premier League ace claims 'I can't get a job in football' during rant at Sky Sports
Ex-Premier League ace Dean Windass has claimed he ‘can’t get a job in football’ during a fiery rant at Sky Sports’ coverage.
Windass played over 100 Premier League matches during his two-decade-long career, turning out for top-flight outfits such as Middlesbrough, Bradford City and Hull City.
The Hull-born star retired from football in 2012 having made over 440 senior appearances during his time as a player.
However, Windass, who claims he’s unable to get a job in football punditry, has criticised Sky Sports for running Fantasy Premier League segments ahead of the weekend action.

He continued: “No wonder I watch Coronation Street and Emmerdale. Hayley is nice, but…oh my days."

Since hanging up his boots, Windass has been in and out of football, including holding a coaching position and also acting as an ambassador for hometown club Hull.
The Windass legacy has been kept going by his son though, who has enjoyed a successful career in the Football League.
Having played for the likes of Rangers, Accrington Stanley and Wigan Athletic, Josh Windass joined Sheffield Wednesday in 2020, before going on to score a 123rd extra-time winner against Barnsley in the 2023 League One play-off final.

It was history repeating itself in a way, given Windass Jnr. had netted a similarly dramatic goal under the Wembley arch in 2008 for Hull.
Commenting on his son’s heroics in 2023, Windass told Sky Sports: "I was battered and bruised when I played for Hull City. Our Josh, though, is a good-looking lad and he loves his hair, so I'm surprised he headed the ball.
"I knew he'd score. He knew it was going to be the biggest game of his life - he didn't need me telling him that. I just told him it was written in the stars: I scored at Wembley on 24 May, Josh scored at Wembley on 29 May."
Windass hasn’t featured on the broadcaster since.
