Golf star Jon Rahm is on the prowl for a new player to join his Legion XIII squad for the 2025 LIV Golf season, as he eyes up-and-coming talent at the Andalucia Masters this week.

Having made the switch to the high-profile LIV Golf league in 2024 and set up his own team, Rahm is actively searching for a player to fill the gap left by Kieran Vincent's departure from the league. With a five-month deadline to find a replacement, Rahm is not resting on his laurels, especially as he makes a return to DP World Tour play.

In an interview with Spanish outlet Golf Sin Etiquetas, Rahm, speaking in his native language, revealed: "I still don't have a player who is already signed but we have six or seven in mind."

He also let slip that one of the prospects is currently showing their skills in Spain.

Rahm's ambitions extend beyond just strengthening his team; after securing the LIV title in 2024, he's keen to enhance Legion XIII's market footprint. He's looking to weave his equipment sponsor Callaway more deeply into the team's commercial fabric.

Rahm's year has been tinged with controversy following his move to the Saudi-funded LIV Golf circuit last year. His participation in the rival tour throughout 2024 jeopardised his Ryder Cup chances, given the requirement to play in four DP World Tour events before year's end.

Before taking part in the Spanish Open last month, Rahm faced the predicament of completing three more events to meet his obligation, amidst uncertainties stemming from fines and suspensions by the DP World Tour for participating in rival LIV events. Tour policy dictated that Rahm had to resolve his penalties before he could resume and finish his mandatory quota of four events.

Rahm, however, made no secret of his displeasure, remarking back in September during LIV Chicago: "I'm not a big fan of the fines. I think I've been outspoken about that. I don't intend to pay the fines, and we keep trying to have a discussion with them about how we can make this happen."

Despite the friction, Rahm successfully managed to rejoin the competition by challenging the punitive measures, mirroring the strategy employed by his peer Tyrrell Hatton. His appeal resulted in entry to both the Spanish Open and the earlier Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland this October.

Rahm aims to fulfil his event commitments by appearing at Andalucia for his fourth tournament this week.
