The fallout from Team USA’s ill-tempered Presidents Cup win continues to rumble on with one of the caddie’s who had a front row seat to the controversy now weighing in. Jim Furyk’s side beat their international counterparts 18.5-11.5 in Montreal, but the contest was overshadowed by a row involving South Korean player Tom Kim.

Kim and partner Si Woo Kim took on Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele in the Saturday afternoon foursomes, with the American due eventually prevailing 1 up after a dramatic final few holes.

On the 18th green, Cantlay and Schauffele’s team-mate Wyndham Clark proceeded to mock their opponents, with footage emerging of him shouting “nighty night boys, nighty night."

Clark’s behaviour appeared a reaction to how Woo Kim reacted to chipping in on the 16th hole to win the hole. He then proceeded to replicate the trademark ‘night night’ celebration of NBA star Steph Curry.

Tom Kim, 22, was clearly upset afterwards, accusing the Americans of 'bad sportsmanship' and alleging that opposition team members were trying to distract him and his partner during the game. Schauffele duly hit back though, accusing Kim of “bringing the heat” with his comments and helping cause  a tense atmosphere during Sunday’s singles matches.

And now the caddie of the three-time PGA Tour winner, Paul Tesori, has been critical of both sides. As well as taking aim at members of the US team, he’s also argued his own player needed to be stronger when receiving stick.

"I witnessed three scenarios where members of the US team emphatically got personal with Tom, and, yes, you know, cursed at him, and got very personal, and at the end of the day, no one wants that," he told SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio.  "These two guys that had done it, I don't think that's in their character at all.”

Tesori, 52, admitted he "wanted to react physically" as tensions rose, but while he declined to name the two American players involved, did reveal at least one of them had later made amends. “I know one of them apologised, which is a great thing, the heat of the moment got to him,” he added.

And on Kim’s reaction, he conceded: “When Tom mentioned that in his Saturday press conference, I didn't know he had done it. When he came in, he shared with me what he did. I said 'Tom, you had every right to feel the way you did'.

"Now there is no reason for him to go into the media, and we know in the world we live in now even if there was video proof of what happened. Half the world is going to think he's being a baby and the other half is going to think he's viable.

"The fans were fine, and to be honest with you, it was only two of the 24 guys acted in a way I would be embarrassed to act. But Tom has to have thick skin, and at the end of the day he can't go to the media and pronounce that, you've got to talk your captain about it, talk to your teammates about it, and it's a learning experience for Tom."
