Golfing titan Tiger Woods has confessed he's "not competitive" following his latest back surgery, as he gears up to play alongside his son Charlie at the PNC Championship in Orlando.

The duo will take on a star-studded field this weekend in what will be Tiger's first tournament action since The Open in July.

Undergoing microdecompression surgery in September to relieve a nerve impingement in his lower back, the 15-time Major winner revealed his condition to the PGA website after Friday's pro-am, saying: "I’m not competitive right now."

Despite his challenges, Tiger opted in at the eleventh hour for the chance "to be able to have the experience" of playing with young Charlie once more.

He half-jokingly noted that his 15-year-old offspring had outperformed him over nine holes - but hasn't managed to clinch victory across the full 18, jesting: "That day is coming. I’m just prolonging it for as long as I possibly can."

This weekend, they'll face off against golf's elite, including Padraig and Paddy Harrington who make their sixth appearance, alongside teams of Nick and Matthew Faldo, Lee and Daniel Trevino and Annika Sorenstam and Will McGee.
