Ana de Armas teases John Wick spin-off as 'sexy' and 'dangerous'
John Wick enthusiasts, brace yourselves, a spin-off movie is on the horizon with Ana de Armas set to take the lead in the action-packed film.
Titled John Wick Presents: Ballerina, the upcoming flick will chart the journey of Rooney (portrayed by Ana), a ballerina with a lethal edge, seeking vengeance for her family's death.
The narrative unfolds in the timeline between the third and fourth instalments of the John Wick saga, featuring Keanu Reeves.
Initially slated for a June 7, 2024 release, Ballerina has encountered a slight hiccup, necessitating reshoots that have nudged its premiere almost a year further. Despite the delay, Ana has dropped hints about the excitement in store, assuring fans it will be well worth the wait.
Speaking to Collider, she expressed her feelings about reshoots: "Every time they say you have reshoots, it's not good. You don't feel good about it."

Ana didn't hold back her enthusiasm, saying, "I'm very proud of it. It's really exciting. It's dangerous, it's sexy, it's very John Wick.
"I think people are going to be surprised. I'm biased. Of course, I like the movie, but I think it's really cool. It's going to be amazing."
The film isn't just a one-star show; alongside Ana, Keanu Reeves will once again grace the screen as the legendary John Wick.

The cast also boasts Anjelica Huston as 'The Director', Gabriel Byrne as the formidable antagonist, and Lance Reddick returning as Charon.
This will be Lance's final on-screen appearance, following his death in March last year. The film is directed by Len Wiseman, known for his work on the horror franchise Underworld and the fourth Die Hard film.
In March 2023, producer Erica Lee revealed that Lionsgate has tentative plans to develop a sequel to Ballerina, with Ana in the lead role. Ana and Keanu are no strangers to working together, having previously starred in the 2015 thriller Knock Knock. They also shared the screen in another thriller, Exposed, in 2016.
John Wicks Presents: Ballerina will release in cinemas on June 6 2025.
