Emmerdale fans have been left fearing for one villager after spotting a 'missing' scene amid the barn fire drama.

Only recently, Moira Dingle has been concerning viewers with her erratic behaviour and just this week caused a shattering barn fire, mistaking Ruby Fox-Milligan for her late adversary, Emma Barton, whom Moira killed back in 2017.

Leading up to the blaze, a rejected romantic advance on her stepson, Nate Robinson, surveilled by Caleb Milligan, sparked a furious reaction from Moira's husband Cain Dingle, who assaulted his son and disowned him.

Adding fuel to the fire, a scornful Ruby taunted Moira but alarm bells rang when Moira started addressing her as Emma and menacingly waved a shotgun. The subsequent inferno, triggered by an accidental spill of tractor fuel, endangered several lives.

Thursday's gripping episode saw Moira whisked away to hospital following the explosion, with medics warning of a mass on her brain causing dangerous pressure, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Meanwhile, Ruby, confiding in Caleb, exclaimed: "She was going to leave me to burn in there I should be dead!"

However, fans were confused over the comment as during the scenes Moira was seen attempting to save Ruby and helping her.

Taking to social media, fans are wondering whether Moira got distracted while helping Ruby and that's because Nate was in the barn in a twist, creating a 'missing' scene with the twist revealed on Friday.

Soap watchers are now worried Moira might have forgotten Nate was in the barn due to her memory lapses and he could now be killed off due to actor Jurell Carter leaving the ITV soap.

Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "I'm just thinking over #Emmerdale again. Ruby said Moira was going to leave her to die, but we all saw her helping her. What if Moira saw Nate and went to help him, but because of the brain trauma she can't remember."

Elsewhere, a different account put: "Perhaps Nate did the classic and took some tinnies to the barn, got drunk and passed out, Moira saw him and that's why she left Ruby #emmerdale" while another fan added: "Does anyone else think Nate was in the barn and is dead."

It comes as Emmerdale has confirmed a heartbreaking brain tumour storyline for Moira with 'challenging' times ahead. On Friday night, viewers will see the heartbreaking moment Moira, played by Natalie J Robb, is diagnosed with a type of brain tumour called a meningioma.

The shock diagnosis explains Moira's behaviour recently, where she has been suffering from symptoms including changes to her personality, violent outbursts, confusion, memory loss and seizures. The tumour, although non-cancerous, leaves Moira seriously worried about her future and concerned about the possibility of surgery, as well as other treatments.

If you have been affected by this story, you can get support and help at The Brain Tumour Charity or Brains Trust.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
