A Place in the Sun: Laura Hamilton take couple to view property

A Place in the Sun's Laura Hamilton faced an unexpected twist while scouting for homes in Corfu with a newlywed couple.

Launching their hunt, the Channel 4 celebrity ushered Lisa and Wayne to a prospective abode near Ipsos beach.

However, the location didn't impress the couple, as Lisa remarked: "It's definitely a younger crowd in this part of the island, we always said we wouldn't buy anywhere in Ipsos."

Caught off guard, Laura exclaimed: "You didn't tell me that when we met! That would've been helpful."

Despite the hiccup, Lisa and Wayne assured Laura they were willing to maintain an open mind and agreed to check out the interior, reports the Mirror.

Yet, their opinions did not improve inside, particularly in the kitchen and living area, eliciting disappointment from Wayne who remarked: "This is a little bit disappointing in this area."

However, Laura replied: "You've just got to remember, it's just under £84,000. Obviously, I know your budget is significantly more than that and if there was a two-bed with a larger lounge in this area, I would 100% be showing it to you. But, this is literally all I've been able to get here for any kind of budget."

Quick to make a decision, Lisa made it clear to Laura that this property wouldn't be their holiday home.

Even though they were dubious about continuing the viewing, they finally agreed to peruse the external space to see what else the property could offer.

Upon surveying the outdoor space, Lisa conceded it was a promising area, with Wayne in agreement.

She remarked: "I guess, the inside is too small, no living area and the area's great for young ones as a rental potential, but I don't think for us."

Laura quickly added: "We're ruling it out, that's a no-brainer. Location? Ok, I'm hearing that."

It took until the fifth and final viewing before the couple were truly taken aback, a detached house in Acharavi captivated them, pushing previous considerations aside. Particularly enthralling for Lisa was the outside terrace.

Commenting on the property, Lisa enthused: "It's amazing, really loved it. What you're getting for your money compared to the others, there's no comparison."

Eager to secure the property, they lodged an offer of £145,000, which was £8,000 below the £153,000 asking price, only to find their bid immediately accepted, much to their delight.

A Place in the Sun continues weekdays on Channel 4 from 4pm.
