BBC Breakfast host fumes 'no' as weather presenter admits snow 'possible' this week

BBC Breakfast: Sally and Jon comment on Kate Middleton update

BBC Breakfast presenter Jon Kay was left stunned after it was confirmed that it could possibly snow this week.

Sally Nugent and Jon were back on Tuesday (September 10) delivering the latest news headlines across the UK and the globe. Joining them in the studio was weather reporter Matt Taylor, who was on hand to address the cooler temperatures.

During one of his reports, Matt delivered startling news confirming that it is in fact getting colder. However when he confirmed that there could also be snow in Scotland, Jon looked very disappointed.

Kicking off the conversation, Sally introduced Matt while pointing out the snowy image behind him. She said: "Matt is here with this morning's weather for us and a really rather beautiful image but a dusting of snow."

Matt replied: "Yeah, it's possible."

Turning to her co-host in amazement, Sally seemed chuffed. She then added: "Yeah, we like a bit of snow!"

But Jon let out a huff and said "no" with a disgruntled expression. Matt appeared to agree with him and said it was far too early for snowy conditions.

However, he confirmed again that it is possible in the Scottish highlands to see sprinkles of snow. He then added: "What a change! The colder weather is on its way."

The news comes after meteorologist Matt gave insight into his personal health. The reporter who usually shares weather updates on social media, disclosed some rather private news.

In March, Matt gave a rare insight how he suffered from whooping cough as a child. Cases of the "100 day cough" were on the rise earlier this year and Matt urged his followers to get their children vaccinated if they can.

He wrote: "Very personal posts are rare, but.. I got whooping cough as a child (medically I wasn’t allowed the vaccination) Beyond doubt the worst experience of my life. I still carry the mental scars of being unable to breathe today. It’s not just a cough! Protect your kids if you can."

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
