ITV James Martin's Saturday Morning guest divides fans as they spot 'weird dynamic'
On today’s episode of James Martin's Saturday Morning, the ITV chef welcomed Morston Hall Hotel owner Chef Galton Blackiston to the studio. While some viewers enjoyed the banter between the pair, others suggested there was some underlying awkwardness there.
This morning, James Martin was joined in the kitchen by Galton, as well as Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton, whipping up some delicious-looking Sloppy Joes. During the show, Galton also showed off his culinary skills as he demonstrated his Courgette Flowers with Cromer Crab and Scallop Mousse in front of the 52-year-old star.
While some viewers were left in stitches by Galton and James’ rapport, others felt there was some tension in the studio. Taking to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, fans shared their thoughts.
“Weirdest dynamic between Gaston and James this morning,” one penned. “Cringe watch.”
Another added: “Get the feeling there’s so bad blood between the chefs this morning. Power plays all over the place.”

One more penned: “I really hope that Galton bloke is being intentionally obnoxious and is acting. Not sure how anyone could work with someone so critical.”
However, most fans agreed that the segment was actually all in good fun, with one writing: “James and Galton might be buddies, but more like an old married couple.”
“Love @ChefGalton and @jamesmartinchef relationship! So funny,” another commented with a smiling emoji.
“The comedy duo we didn’t know we needed. @ChefGalton and @sat_jamesmartin have to have their own show,” another penned with three laughing emojis.

“Wow! Looks amazing. You two are so entertaining,” a fourth person expressed, as another admirer commented: “Had the pleasure of seeing @ChefGalton cook this dish at his demo couple of weeks ago what a lovely man this is tv gold @jamesmartinchef just brilliant you two need do more tv together you make me laugh so much.” (sic)
One more tweeted: “@sat_jamesmartin you and Moston are the new Morecambe and Wise. Brilliant entertainment and we can see the Love and Stress.” (sic)
James was also joined in the studio by Chef Judy Joo and Escape to the Country host Jules Hudson, producing some delicious dishes including Lamb with Courgette, Figs and Tahini Dressing and a classic Ratatouille.
