BBC Breakfast underwent a huge shake-up as Naga Munchetty was absent from Saturday's (September 7) show.

The presenter, 49, usually hosts the flagship programme with Charlie Stayt from Thursday to Saturday, however, was nowhere to be seen during the show's latest instalment.

Charlie, 62, was instead joined by Nina Warhurst, bringing viewers the latest headlines of the day from the red sofa. Naga's unexplained absence comes just one day after she made a huge career announcement away from BBC Breakfast.

Naga revealed she has written a new book about women’s healthcare. Taking to Instagram on Friday (September 7), the newsreader encouraged women to "take their health seriously" as she unveiled her new project, It’s Probably Nothing.

The new book dives into critical issues in women's health, inspired by her own struggles and the broader challenges women often face in the healthcare system.

Alongside an image of the book cover, Naga wrote: "Why can the healthcare system feel rigged against women? And how can women be empowered to fight for an answer beyond just being told they’re ‘unlucky’?”

Using a combination of personal experiences, interviews, and medical evidence, Naga crafted a guide aimed at helping women navigate their healthcare throughout their lives.

She explained: "Using extensive interviews and medical evidence, as well as my own experience getting diagnosed with adenomyosis, I have aimed to put together a handbook for women at every stage of their lives that will help them get the care they deserve."

The broadcaster signed off the post: "It’s time our health is taken seriously." Naga was inundated with support from her followers as they flocked to the comments to praise her new project.

One wrote: "Thank you for writing this. I have had it confirmed today that I need a hysterectomy, after years of struggling with endometriosis and adenomyosis. This book is so needed."

Another penned: "Thank you for shining a light on this Naga! As a women’s homelessness organisation we see first hand the devastating health impacts that marginalisation can have - the average age of death for women who are sleeping rough is just 43. Whilst there are complicated reasons for this, health is a huge contributor.”

Echoing this, a third posted: "Love love love this. Amazing step in the right direction. Thank you for using your voice to advocate for us and share your own story."
