TM: Cat offers guest the opportunity to visit the studio

A This Morning guest was taken aback by Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley's sweet gesture amid her cancer battle.

Katie called in as part of the fashion segment where she confessed she was struggling with her style as she worked from home and seemed to always be wearing the same thing. As Trinny sat in to offer her some options and suggestions, Cat suggested they do one better and invited Katie into the studio.

"Katie, how far away are you from London? Can you come to the studio and we'll help you out with a few bits," she asked, with Katie - who hails from West Sussex - thrilled about the idea of coming by the studio. The guest admitted she had been struggling with the side effects of her medication, which was giving her bad headaches.

On the fashion side, Ben admitted it was also something his wife struggled with. He explained: "A lot of people work from home now and my wife does this a lot. She likes structure in a day so she puts on clothes, which is what you're talking about Katie, so I think it will be really interesting if you come in and we can try and help you work out what that wardrobe will look like and then you can take it home and try and make it work, so you don't feel like you're wearing sludge."

Katie laughed, before adding it would be "amazing" as Trinny suggested things like shoulder pads could be what she's looking for outfit wise. They later asked Katie how she was doing amid her cancer treatment and she said she was "one of the lucky ones".

The show ended today with a fashion segment where Cat and Ben joined Trinny to show off the latest outfits from high street fashion. Cat was particularly keen on a pair of bootcut jeans, confessing she owned the very same ones.

Cat and Ben are back on screen now following the summer break. A number of presenters have stepped in for the duo - who took over when Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby quit the show - and Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary will be back for their usual Friday slot. The likes of Joel Dommett, Rochelle Humes and Josie Gibson have all stood in over the summer.

Over the weekend, Cat insisted she would quit the show if it ever got too much for her. She said: "I don't care. I do not care. If it gets too much for me I'm going to quit. I could stop and be a mum for most of the year and then go and do the shows in America. There is no ulterior motive for me doing this."

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10am.
