Billy Monger recalls his crash on Celebrity Race Across the World

The drama heats up on BBC's Celebrity Race Across the World as actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin Mary Ellen face the possibility of elimination following a misplaced passport debacle in Uruguay.

As teams approach the halfway point in their exciting journey from the Amazon to the Andes in the upcoming episode (September 4), they bid farewell to Sao Paulo, Brazil, aiming for the next checkpoint in Tigre, Argentina. Despite finishing last in the most recent stage of the race, Kola and Mary Ellen, renowned for their cheerful manner, find themselves in a bind as they try to make up lost time.

With the smallest funds remaining among the competitors, the urgency to earn and save money is at an all-time high. Nonetheless, Kola exudes confidence, determinedly stating, "We finished last but we weren't that far behind so I'm pretty optimistic about this next leg".

However, their optimism is short-lived as a series of misfortunes unfold; not only does a bus malfunction put a damper on their plans to celebrate St Patrick's Day in Porto Alegre, but Kola faces a moment of dread after he forgets his vital travel document while on an overnight bus to Punta del Este, where they had planned to replenish their funds with a gig.

Overcome with regret upon discovering the blunder, Kola laments to Mary Ellen, "I left my passport on the bus".

Kola concedes, as a realization hits him: "I took it out to put the passport back in the case and I just left it on the chair, on my seat". A concerned Mary Ellen pushes Kola to strategize a recovery plan, advising him to "think about how you're going to get it back," reports the Mirror.

A perplexed and stressed Kola responds, "How am I supposed to get it back, I have no phone, I just need some alone time".

The tension escalated when Mary sharply remarked, "We haven't really got time for this" prompting Kola to retort: "What have we got time for then, Mary?"

Mary then snapped: "Moving on... do you think your passport is just going to levitate towards you? " which led to Kola's terse comeback: "I don't need this right now".

Reflecting on the situation, Mary pondered to the camera if her cousin's celebrity status, being used to others handling his matters, might be playing a part in his current clumsy situation. A disheartened Kola confessed: "I've no one to blame but myself, it was a silly thing to do, if this is the end of the race, it'll be hard to swallow as we've come so far and it'll be my fault."

As they made their way to a wine lodge, the pair held onto the hope that a landline could help them recover their misplaced passport. This passport blunder could see them facing exclusion from Argentina, potentially cutting their adventure short on the programme.
