Jeremy Clarkson received a string of insults from Richard Hammond and James May over the years, and James once claimed that the trio's partnership is fuelled by "mutual loathing".

In spite of all that, it was nostalgic emotions all around when it came to filming the last episode of Amazon Prime favourite The Grand Tour: One For The Road. Having released a thrilling new trailer for the show's final episode it promises to be an epic exit for the much-loved road trip programme as viewers get the chance to see the trio come together for one final time and they struggled to hold it together.

While James joked that he'd be "deleting" his co-stars' numbers immediately after the show, Richard struggled with his feelings.

"I'll be really honest, and they'll mock me for this, but I'll miss them terribly," he sobbed. "We've worked together for twenty years. We've worked hard, and we have to egg each other on, and it's never just loafing about."

He added that it would be "difficult to recreate" the unique situation they shared on the show, pointing out: "If I go over and visit Jeremy at his farm, it would be to go over and relax. That's not the same as having to get up at five in the morning and drive for eight hours through the jungle."

Jeremy, on the other hand, had admitted that he's unlikely to miss his co-workers too much for one major reason. According to reports by GB News, he told the press that he didn't feel he was "saying goodbye" to the same extent, as he uses "exactly the same crews and producers on the farm show as on the car show".

However, it'll be the last time he works on the hit car show with Richard and James as his co-stars.

After spending almost a decade on The Grand Tour, he concluded that he was "too unfit, fat and old" to continue.

Jeremy told The Times: "I've driven cars higher than anyone else and further north than anyone else. We've done everything you can do with a car.

"When we had meetings about what to do next, people just threw their arms in the air."

Despite deciding it was the "right time" for him to leave the show behind, he did feel deeply about his adventures.

When recalling his time in Zimbabwe, he admitted: "I shall certainly miss doing this sort of thing."

However, he also joked that he'll be spending much less time at Heathrow Terminal 5, as he focuses his efforts on Clarkson's Farm.

Jeremy has also been occupied with his new Cotswolds pub The Farmer's Dog, which launched earlier this month and attracted queues of several hundred eager to be the first through its doors.
