ITV Loose Women sparks fury with Angela Rayner remarks as fans slam panel

Kelly Holmes defends Angela Rayner for raving

Loose Women viewers rushed to complain over the panel's remarks about Angela Rayner. Last week, the Deputy Prime Minister was spotted dancing in front of thousands of people in Ibiza.

The video was unearthed just days after Prime Minister Keir Starmer painted a gloomy image of Britain, warning that he will ask Britons to endure more pain to fix the country.

During Monday's instalment (September 2) of the ITV programme, Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan, Kelly Holmes and Brenda Edwards discussed whether it was a "good look" for the 44-year-old to be partying in a club following news of the painful Autumn budget.

Kelly, 54, furiously defended Rayner, saying "she's only human" and should be allowed to have a good time. The former Olympian said: "Let's face it, politics can be very boring and at the end of the day, she's a human being and she's letting her hair down."

"Everyone's so critical of every move of anybody. She's a female who's obviously loving life at that moment. Of course, there's serious things to do back here but she's not sitting behind a desk there, she's at a rave and she's loving it."

Coleen, 59, agreed with her co-star, saying more politicians should "let their hair down" and temporarily get away from the pressure they're facing in their jobs. "Life is a bit depressing at the moment so anyway you can find some respite from it, whether it's dancing in the kitchen, just do it," Coleen declared.

Brenda weighed into the discussion and couldn't resist taking a playful swipe at the Labour politician. "She was busting some shapes, not all of them on time," Brenda quipped.

She continued: "But hats off to her. It's stressful being an MP in these times. I read that she'd just come out of a very important meeting about the fires and the cladding so why don't people try and focus on the good that she's trying to do rather than the fact that she's going out."

A number of viewers didn't agree with the panel as they flooded social media with complaints. One wrote: "Oh f off Brenda. What good is Rayner doing for us??"

A second fumed: "The loose women sticking up for Angela Rayner twerking away in Ibiza, 'cos she's under pressure' jeez, like the pensioners without their winter fuel allowance won't be under pressure. SHOCKING."

"Yep you lot would agree with Rayner ...as you don't have to worry about Austerity as she doesn't either," claimed a third. Echoing this, another penned: "Yeah cos you've got so much cash you won't be affected by the budget Kells."

Others agreed with the panel as one shared: "Thank you #KellyHolmes #loosewomen. She's earned a good time and if I was at a rave I'd be 10 times worse."
