Sunday Brunch fans say 'what are we going to do' as Channel 4 programme is taken off air

Sunday Brunch halted after guest swears live on air

Sunday Brunch fans were disappointed to learn that their weekend dose of their culinary favourite had been cancelled on September 1st.

Viewers were let down after they'd taken to the official Facebook page, only to be notified that the Sunday morning programme was about to be taken off-air, as they complained in the comments section: "What are we going to do."

The beloved weekend show, fronted by Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy, had instead been replaced by the 2024 Paralympics Games, in Paris which is not due to wrap up until next Sunday (September 8).

With the games expected to close in a week's time, it is likely that the Channel 4 show will be put on the back-burner for two-weeks on the trot, although that has not officially been communicated by the broadcasting giant just yet.

Hosts Simon and Tim, took to the studio to film a short announcement for fans that their programme had been taken off air for the time being.

It has yet to be confirmed whether the programme will return next Sunday but the two presenters did confirm that they "would be back soon". Tim opened: "Hi everyone, there is no Sunday Brunch this week," as Simon played it down, adding: "What!"

"Because of the Paralympics, we're off-air for that," explained Tim as Simon finished up with: "We hope you are enjoying watching the games and we'll see you soon." Tim then concluded: "Yes, we will."

Angry and disappointed fans lunged to the comments section to grumble about the last-minute switch-up that landed on their Facebook page on Saturday (August 30) in the afternoon.

One person penned:"Oh no… that’s thrown my routine of the window … cats are going to miss Petflix," another added: "Missing Sunday Brunch this morning, look forward to next week."

Another two fans shared the same sentiment, adding: "What am I going to do Sunday," and "Nooooo!! What am I going to do tomorrow morning now," along with sad emojis.

While others simply wrote: "Noooo," to show their upset with the programme change on Channel 4.

Sunday Brunch usually airs on Channel 4 from 10am, each Sunday.
