Emmerdale fans 'work out' devastating exit for Moira Dingle after health fears

Emmerdale: Moira pours herself a glass of whiskey

Emmerdale fans have pieced together a devastating departure plot for Moira Dingle.

Played by Natalie J Robb, Moira has become a popular character among viewers, yet recent episodes have sparked concerns she might be facing a tragic outcome. In a dramatic turn of events last night, Moira was struck down by a seizure in her barn, leaving fans and the village in suspense about her condition.

In tonight's instalment, fear gripped Moira as she became aware something was amiss with her health. Speculation amongst viewers suggests a brain tumour may be the cause, potentially sealing Moira's fate on the soap.

Social media is abuzz with fan theories, with one viewer suggesting: "I think Moira will get trapped in the fire then it'll be confirmed she has a brain tumour whilst she's in hospital. We know Nate is leaving - so he'll probably perish in the fire." While another echoed earlier suspicions: "I said right from the start with Moira's odd behaviour that I thought that she'd got a brain tumour and I said it again last week too! #Emmerdale."

Natalie herself has spoken out regarding Moira's condition, stating: "When I was told Moira would be suffering from a serious health condition, I knew I wanted to play my part in helping to raise awareness. A soap can play such a big role in shining a light on many different illnesses, as it has so brilliantly this year with Chas' cancer diagnosis," reports the Mirror.

"As a soap actress, you are very much in the lap of the gods when it comes to your character and what happens to them. But I think it is important we do cover serious illnesses that hopefully will help people know they aren't alone. I know I would be petrified if I started to have seizures and had no idea why. It's a challenging role and a big responsibility."

Natalie revealed her commitment to realism for her latest challenging storyline on the series, detailing her close cooperation with a medical expert to authentically depict her character's health struggles.

"I have learnt a lot about different seizures you can have and I have been working closely with an expert. He has been giving me lots of wonderful advice on how to show little visual signs, even subtle things when you do have a seizure," Natalie mentioned regarding her preparation.

She empathised: "It's been important to me to show how much it affects a person. It takes everything out of your body and the confusion afterwards is very hard. My heart goes out to people who have gone or who are going through this."

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1.
