The Chase: Bradley Walsh on contestant's 'nervy performance'

Bradley Walsh was forced to issue one contestant a warning before calling out their "very nervy" performance. The Chase returned with a brand new episode on Tuesday (August 27) as four new contestants went up against Jenny Ryan.

Things got off to a bleak start as player number one was quickly caught by The Vixen. However, Jordan looked to be turning things around when he scored £7,000 in the cash builder.

The 27-year-old shocked both Bradley and Jenny when he took the plunge and opted for the high offer of £40,000. Not letting the pressure get to him, Jordan made it back to the final chase with the huge sum.

Following Jordan was Fiona, who equally impressed the audience with her knowledge. The 51-year-old was almost tempted by Jenny's high offer of £50,000, but decided to stick with the £8,000 she earned in the cash builder.

Fiona became the second contestant through to the final chase, taking the team's overall total to a whopping £48,000. The pressure was on for final contestant Mat to perform like his teammates, leading Bradley to issue a warning.

After Fiona returned to her seat, Bradley asked: "Did you get any of that, Mat?" To which the 31-year-old responded: "I have no idea what's going on."

"You've got to join the club, mate!" Bradley warned. After Mat answered three questions correctly in the cash builder, Jenny attempted to knock some money off the prize fund, offering him -£6,000. Despite advice from Jordan saying he should take the low offer, Mat stuck with the £3,000.

Towards the end of the nail-biting head-to-head, Bradley picked up on Jordan's behaviour as he declared: "Very nervy performance now I have to say."

Despite Bradley's concerns, Mat joined Jordan and Fiona in the final chase as they played for £51,000. In the final chase, the trio answered 15 questions correctly.

"I think we underperformed there but don't worry because those were tricky," said Bradley as he attempted to boost the team's confidence.

The team managed to execute a number of push backs, leaving Jenny unable to catch them in the two minutes required. Finishing on just 12 questions answered correctly, the team were ecstatic as they walked away with £17,000 each.
