ITV Britain's Got Talent shake-up confirmed with new format change for 2025 series
ITV has announced a significant format change for Britain's Got Talent next year. The upcoming series will run for up to four months, with the broadcaster revealing a major overhaul of the programme's broadcast schedule.
Simon Cowell's show will kick off earlier than usual, in February instead of April, and will now be aired every Saturday night. Instead of the five live semi-finals being broadcast nightly across one week, they will now be shown weekly.
The judging panel, consisting of Simon, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli, will return, with additional tour stops added to this October's auditions, commencing in Blackpool. This is great news for Bruno, who is set to reprise his role on the panel for another year.
The 68 year old Italian maverick joined the BGT panel in 2022, leaving his Strictly Come Dancing post which he had held for 18 years. He replaced David Walliams as a judge, and it seems that the switch to ITV may have been sweetened by a hefty salary.
Reports suggest that the TV judge earned a staggering £21,000 per week to sit alongside Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell and Alesha Dixon on the popular talent show. It's alleged that Bruno's entertainment company, Fulvia Ltd, also saw a substantial increase in income, with earnings rising from £2.4 million to £3.5 million, reports the Mirror.

In a recent interview, he expressed: "Well those kinds of talent shows take it too far. Simon Cowell has done that. You know, by saying, 'Why are you on this show? What makes you think you can sing? Who told you you can sing'. I mean... Jesus. " Speaking to MailOnline, he added: "The difference between The Voice and other talent shows is, they can sing. They've got rid of those who can't sing before the first auditions."
