Strictly Come Dancing favourite Amy Dowden graced the This Morning sofa to discuss her poignant BBC documentary, Strictly Amy: Cancer and Me, which is set to premiere tonight on Bank Holiday Monday.

Amidst sharing insights into her ongoing cancer battle and promoting her forthcoming book, Amy divulged some eagerly awaited Strictly secrets. She teased viewers with a glimpse into the upcoming series, stating they would "have to wait and watch the launch show" scheduled for September 14 to find out who her partner was.

She enthused: "The Strictly family, they were there with me every step of the way and I can't say too much but dancing again, a very special number, it was so emotional and so lovely. I just can't stop smiling."

This revelation sets the stage for the live shows to kick off from September 21.

The BBC had subtly hinted at the start date in their guidance for audience ticket applications, reports the Mirror.

Amy's excitement was palpable as she spoke of her joy at reuniting with her Strictly friends, emphasising her dedication to making the landmark 20th series truly memorable.

She recounted how the male professionals had "lifted her up" during a performance, describing the experience of dancing with them once more as "surreal".

In the same heartfelt interview, Amy also touched upon the reality of her health situation, noting that her cancer treatment will continue for another five years, with monthly injections forming part of her regimen.
