The Repair Shop fans in tears over toy cat as they dub it 'most moving' restoration yet

The Repair Shop: Guests emotional as they share sad story

Fans of BBC's hit show The Repair Shop were left in tears as they described a stunning restoration as the "most moving one yet".

On this Wednesday's show (August 21) Lesley and her daughter Nicola brought along a cherished fluffy feline toy called Jess, which belonged to Lesley's foster son Colin. The family started providing respite care for Colin in 2012.

Colin, now twelve, suffers from Pierre Robin sequence, which is a rare birth defect that results in an underdeveloped jaw, breathing difficulties, inability to speak or chew, and is PEG fed. Colin also has problems with his heart.

Jess has been Colin's constant companion through numerous hospital stays and operations and is with him every night when he goes to sleep. However, all this love has worn Jess out, who is losing stuffing and has been patched up many times by Lesley but still needs extra care and expert attention.

But the results from the restoration left viewers in floods of tears as they were stunned by just how good it was. One viewer said: "Jess' transformation must be the most moving repair yet."

Leaving the stuffed toy in the hands of experts Amanda Middleditch and Julie Tatchell, they made sure they gave Jess extra attention and care to give the cat a new lease of life. Later on in the programme, Lesley and Nicoa returned to the Repair Shop barn to see the finished product.

And to the viewers' surprise, Colin also came into the barn to collect his beloved toy. After seeing Jess looking brand new, Colin broke down in tears which left fans at home sobbing as they were stunned by just how good the restoration was.

Heading over to social media platform X, fans shared their thoughts on the emotive scenes. One viewer said: "Jess' transformation must be the most moving repair yet."
