Netflix has axed the real estate reality show Buying Beverly Hills after just two seasons, leaving its audience "hugely disappointed".

The show, which had viewers riveted with its high-stakes property drama, won't be returning despite a strong fanbase.

Outraged supporters have slammed Netflix's "insane" move to cancel the LA-based reality series that had many clamouring for more.

Mauricio Umansky, 54, the dynamic real estate mogul, and his team at The Agency took centre stage in the series, navigating the cutthroat world of luxury property sales.

Umansky, who is wed to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Kyle Richards, 55, gave an insight into their personal life and marriage, adding an extra layer to the show that captivated The Real Housewives' dedicated followers, reports the Daily Star.

Since Mauricio launched The Agency in 2011, it has seen meteoric growth, boasting over 100 offices globally.

The cast featured Mauricio, his wife Kyle, and their daughters Farrah Brittany, 35, Alexia Umansky, 27, and Sophia, 24, as they dealt with the highs and lows of running a family enterprise.

Despite the show's popularity and the recent March premiere of its second season, Netflix has pulled the plug, denying fans a third season.

Deadline reports that the axe fell on Buying Beverly Hills due to its production costs not measuring up to viewership numbers.

Disgruntled fans took to X, the platform previously known as Twitter, to vent their dismay at the show's cancellation.

"I loved Buying Beverly Hills! What a huge disappointment!" one fan posted, accompanied by a sad emoji.

Another exclaimed in frustration: "Buying Beverly Hills being cancelled is INSANE." (sic)

"Why did they cancel Buying Beverly Hills?" queried a third, with additional sad emojis punctuating their plea.

Nevertheless, enthusiasts of the genre can take solace, as Netflix boasts a plethora of similar reality shows, such as Selling Sunset and its spin-off Selling the OC.

The first two seasons of Buying Beverly Hills are available to stream on Netflix now.
