TM: Rylan and Josie announce who is presenting next week

This Morning viewers were left reaching for the tissues as Rylan Clark and Josie Gibson bid a heartfelt "goodbye" to the hit ITV daytime programme.

The dynamic duo had taken over hosting duties for a week in August, but when Friday rolled around, it was time to reveal who would be stepping into their shoes. In an emotional farewell, Rylan shared, "That is it from us."

He continued, "A massive thank you to everyone for a great week. We've had such a lovely time. Joel Dommett and Rochelle [Humes] are gonna be here on Monday."

Josie chimed in with the news: "Yes, and they'll be joined by Sam Thompson, who'll have all the latest showbiz gossip."

Rylan chimed in again: "That's all coming up Monday. But for now, one last song for us, and this is for our lovely producer Nicole who heads off today to get married! Good luck, we love you and we'll see you soon! Thank you for joining us," reports the Mirror.

As Toploader's Dancing in the Moonlight serenaded their departure, Rylan and Josie shared a playful wave goodbye to the audience before transitioning to Loose Women at 12:30pm.

Emotional fans took to social media to express their feelings, with many being visibly upset. A devastated user expressed their sadness online, commenting: "Oh no Josie and Rylan have left This Morning. Someone is currently in a flood of tears!" along with a tearful GIF of Patrick from SpongeBob SquarePants.

One fan exclaimed: "Deep breath. Joel, Rochelle and Sam on Monday!" while another lamented: "I miss Rylan already."

Another viewer couldn't hold back their plea: "Rylan and Josie You have brightened up my week this week while you have been presenting This Morning. #BestPresenters you should be permanent!"

The drive to keep the dynamic duo on the air has even sparked a social media campaign as devoted viewers clamour for Josie and Rylan to secure a permanent spot as hosts of the ITV morning programme.

In related news from the show, Rylan hinted at the possibility of remarrying in the future, mentioning: "I mean, if I was to ever do it again, I'd be like, 'I won't tell anyone, we'll just get someone round to the house'. We'll be in our pants. I do - ta-da. Done it."

Reflecting on his separation from former partner Dan Neal, Rylan shared an amusing anecdote: "I didn't realise I'd actually booked a venue for my 10th wedding anniversary. I got an email a couple of months back asking, 'Do you still want this venue?' I was like, 'no!' I was like, 'I forgot'. I've lost my deposit and all!"
