Andi Peters 'begs' to 'keep job' after technical blunder

Lorraine viewers were united in their response as the show's host was again absent from her eponymous ITV programme.

Friday (August 16) saw Andi Peters, renowned for his competition segments on ITV's daytime slots, grace the screens once more to cover for Lorraine Kelly.

Currently on a summer break, the Scottish host has left the reins of the popular magazine show in the capable hands of colleagues like Ranvir Singh, Andi Peters, and Joel Dommett who have been sharing hosting duties.

Andi's latest stint on Lorraine set tongues wagging across the nation, prompting a flurry of commentary online. A viewer took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, voicing their surprise: "Andi flaming Peters presenting #Lorraine? ! ? Stop this madness at ONCE! @ITV @Ofcom".

Another chimed in with dismay: "It's got so desperate now that Andi Peters is taking over #Lorraine.", reports the Daily Record.

In contrast, one viewer expressed intrigue: "Andi Peters plot twist! ! ! " while another wrote appreciatively: "Ohhh nice to see Andi Peters."

Ranvir, also a former contender on Strictly Come Dancing, filled in on Lorraine throughout the week, fitting snugly into the 9-10am slot. Friday was particularly hectic for her, beginning the day before sunrise to anchor Good Morning Britain.

Stepping up to the plate alongside Adil Ray, the previous Strictly star kicked off an early start on Good Morning Britain, which followed a week of varied faces helming the show.

Trisha Goddard joined forces with co-host Richard Madeley on Tuesday's episode of GMB, stepping in for Kate Garraway. It was a busy day for Andi too, as he made an appearance on GMB to inform viewers about a recent competition on the show and explained how they could bag £90,000.

Lorraine recently impressed fans when she attended her daughter Rosie Smith's baby shower. The daughter of the TV queen announced back in April that she's expecting a little girl with partner Steve White.

Rosie, 30, posted a series of touching photos from the surprise celebration on Instagram. The expectant mother looked glowing in a blue floral dress as she shared another clip of her partner helping her put on socks. Lorraine, 64, looked equally as stunning in her outfit.

She paired the chic blue and white midi dress with beige heels and a love heart necklace.
