Freddie Brazier's heartbreaking confession to dad before Celeb Race Across The World
Until recently, Bobby Brazier's younger brother Freddie remained largely out of the limelight - but that is now about to change.
Behind the scenes, he'd struggled first with grief as his mum Jade Goody died of cervical cancer when he was just five years old. Then later, as Bobby took the nation by storm as an EastEnders actor and Strictly dancer, Freddie had an identity crisis, struggling to find his true calling and purpose in life.
While Bobby became so famous from Strictly that he at times yearned for it to be over so that he could have a moment of normality, Freddie's career hadn't yet taken off. The pair's dad, Jeff Brazier, has now opened up on his son's heartbreaking battle to carve out his own space.
Talking on Wednesday's episode of Celebrity Race Across The World, which Jeff and Freddie signed up to do together, Jeff explained: "I've seen my son struggle. I know what he needs is a greater sense of purpose, self worth and confidence."

I think that’s quite tough." He added: "Who is Freddie Brazier? I don’t know, but I hope the race will help me find who I am."

Freddie Brazier and dad Jeff were in for a tough ride (Image: BBC)The father and son team will be trying to travel across the world by any means possible, but with one major condition - air travel, smartphones and bank cards are strictly forbidden.
Freddie will have to hone his sense of self-discipline and focus for the trip - but things didn't get off to a promising start the night before, when he sneaked off to visit a girl instead of packing for the trip.
Freddie - who is a dead ringer for his dad, whereas Bobby takes after his late mum more - was branded a poor "decision-maker".
However, there's plenty of time for viewers to see him improve as the TV action has only just kicked off.

Jeff revealed one thing he was most looking forward to about the trip was the opportunity "to learn a lot more about" his son.
"He isn't at home loads and as a result I don't see loads of him, but the beauty of this trip is that he's with me and he can't shake me off," he quipped.
Meanwhile, Freddie poignantly admitted: "I still need my dad."
