Rylan Clark's warning to Molly-Mae and Tommy fans after heartbreaking split

Molly-Mae Hague splits from Tommy Fury after five years

Rylan Clark has spoken out in defence of Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague, urging fans to show compassion following the shock announcement that the Love Island stars have split.

The 35-year-old presenter, who knows only too well the pain of a very public separation, pleaded with viewers to remember that there are "two families and a baby" involved.

Rylan's intervention came during a segment on This Morning, as celebrity correspondent Sian Welby gave an update on the break up. Interrupting the report, Rylan said: "I mean I get it and I know they are a very social first couple and everything like that.

Let's just remember there's been a break up here and that's going to be hard for everyone involved, there's a baby and two families here so we wish them both well."

The news of Tommy and Molly-Mae's split sent shockwaves through the showbiz world on Wednesday, with many fans taking to social media to express their sadness.

Molly-Mae, 24, was the first to confirm the break up in an emotional statement posted to her Instagram story, which read: "Never in a million years did I think I'd ever have to write this. After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way."

The couple, who met on the 2019 series of Love Island, welcomed their first child, a daughter named Bambi, in January last year, reports the Mirror.

"I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter. Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority."

She continued: "I want to thank you all for the love you have shown us over the last five years. You have all been a part of our journey and I feel it's right to share this with you all."

The social media star is currently taking a hiatus from the digital world but assured fans she would return to updating her profiles "when it feels right".

On the other hand, professional pugilist Tommy, expressed his heartbreak to his followers and asked for privacy during this difficult period.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV, from 10am.
