ITV Emmerdale viewers slam 'most irritating' villager and warn they'll 'stop watching'

Emmerdale: Victoria Sugden is arrested by police

Emmerdale fans have been left fuming at their screens over a certain character, dubbing them the “most irritating” villager.

Soap legend Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) has been a staple in the famous village since 2006 - and the character has played a big part in several storylines over the years, too.

From being put in psychiatric care to scandalous affairs, Vic’s time in the Dales has not been short of drama. This is especially true at the moment, as in the soap recently, her long-lost brother turned up.

Last week, newcomer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) made his bombshell arrival - and it didn’t take him long to ruffle some feathers.

The mysterious newbie has already found himself embroiled in a feud with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), the latter who John slept with.

Fans will recall, in John’s debut scenes he encountered Aaron - before the pair slept together in his van. The newcomer then drove off with Aaron’s wallet and keys still inside the vehicle - leaving Aaron livid.

Aaron was even more fuming when he found out John’s identity, and that he was the half-brother of his ex-husband Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley).

However, one villager that been left delighted at John’s arrival is Victoria, happy at the fact she has a brother and is keen to build a relationship with him.

Being incredibly welcoming, she even offered John a roof over his head while his van, which he lived in, was getting repaired at the garage. However, John has insisted he wants nothing to do with her, or of the Sugdens.

But now, it seems Victoria’s behaviour in the soap has riled up plenty of viewers - so much so that they have dubbed her the “most irritating character” on the soap.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person fumed: “Good grief. Victoria is too overbearing. John can't breathe without her going on all the time.” Someone else proclaimed: “My GOD!!!! Victoria is the most IRRITATING character in this show.” (sic)

While over on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, a third follower wrote: “She’s another that writers have ruined and given a character change to and it’s terrible.”

Another echoed their thoughts and penned: "Victoria is relentless…gets where castor oil wouldn't. Take the hint, leave John alone!” (sic)

A fifth wrote: “She's getting to be a pain in the a*** she's constantly following him. Carry on and I’ll stop watching. She needs to leave him alone.” Someone else commented: “Vic is getting on my last nerve! Too pushy by far!” (sic)
