Good Morning Britain slapped with complaints as viewers fume over coverage

GMB: Panel say taking shirt off should be reserved for beach

Good Morning Britain sparked a backlash from viewers on Wednesday with many issuing a complaint about the show's coverage. The segment that received a strong reaction was about whether men should stop taking their tops off during the hot weather.

The discussion comes after it was reported that 75 percent of people said in a survey that guys should not take off their shirts unless they're at the pool or the beach.

However, some fans were left unimpressed by the show's coverage, with one fuming: "Obviously nothing else better to talk about."

"And you wonder why no one watches GMB," another complained while a third asked: "Really? Best topic of the day? Knife crime and shoplifting rocketing you are unable to call out the #majoroflondon #SadiqKhan now not even able to comment on his office posts #democracy."

Someone else raged: "Seriously, with everything going on just now."

"The content on GMB just gets more and more Banal every day," another stated while someone simply stated: "Hardly news."

Despite the backlash, some viewers didn't share the same opinion and instead, shared their thoughts on the latest survey.

One replied: "There's a time and place for taking your tops off. And walking around the streets or going food shopping definitely isn't the place."

Sharing his thoughts on the subject, Richard said: "There is something crude about seeing a guy walking down the street shirtless, isn't there?"

Guest Andrew Pierce weighed in: "With their man boobs..."

"Yeah," Richard agreed as Andrew continued: "It's horrible."

The ITV host added: "There is something slightly threatening about it I think about seeing a bloke walking bare-chested."

As Trisha questioned his opinion, Richard explained further: "It's physically slightly in your face."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
