Ranvir Singh's frosty response to Rylan Clark's awkward comment

Lorraine: Rylan tells Ranvir to stick around for boob job segment

The atmosphere tensed up on Lorraine's latest segment when stand-in presenter Ranvir Singh had a less than warm exchange with Rylan Clark concerning cosmetic surgery suggestions.

On Tuesday's episode, the Good Morning Britain presenter filled in for Lorraine Kelly and tackled a variety of topics such as health, fashion, and the new season of Celebrity MasterChef. Towards the show's conclusion, she connected with Rylan and Josie Gibson who were outside the This Morning studio, previewing upcoming features.

In high spirits, Rylan and Josie chatted about what viewers could expect, but the mood shifted with Rylan's jest towards Ranvir, proposing she should stick around for a feature on quick boob jobs.

He jovially remarked: "Ranvir, I know you probably want to go home but you want to watch this show because we've got 15-minute boob jobs, babes."

The comment hung in the air, only punctuated by Josie's laughter, reports the Mirror. An amused silence fell before Ranvir retorted with an awkward glance: "I'm not sure I need one. That's all I'm gonna say, but..." To which Rylan playfully responded: "I might have it! "

Quick to avert any discomfort, Josie chimed in reassuringly to Ranvir: "You don't need one, you're gorgeous as you are!"

While Ranvir Singh is not new to hosting, having taken the helm before while Lorraine enjoys her holiday break, viewers expressed dissatisfaction with her interviewing approach from the show on Monday (August 13).

The 47-year-old star recently engaged in a touching conversation with two participants from ITV's award-winning programme, Long Lost Family. The sibling pair, who were reunited on Davina McCall's show, shared their poignant story with Ranvir.

However, some viewers expressed dissatisfaction, claiming that Ranvir wasn't paying attention. One viewer took to social media and posted: "#lorraine Ranvir is the master of not listening to answers and interrupting during Interviews."

Another viewer was upset by Ranvir's "flippant" response and tweeted: "Hey Ranvir - can you say 'very sadly got cancer and passed away' in a more flippant and throwaway fashion?"

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV1.
