All Creatures Great and Small was revived in 2020 and started airing on Channel 5 during the coronavirus pandemic to provide a sense of much-needed escapism. Following its continued success, the drama set in the Yorkshire Dales made its way across the pond to the US.

Now in its fifth season, the beloved story based on the James Herriot books has grown from strength to strength. Netflix recently announced UK viewers would be able to watch the show on the streaming platform from August 14.

The first season, made up of six episodes and a Christmas special, will be available to watch in its entirety. Nicholas Ralph stars in the latest adaptation as James Herriot, with Rachel Shenton as Helen Alderson.

All Creatures Great and Small has rallied a huge fanbase in the US, with loyal followers even visiting the filming locations to see if they can catch a glimpse of the stars at work. They are keen to find out if it will make its way to Netflix there too.

According to What's On Netflix, it appears the series will sadly not be making its way to the streaming platform this week, or any time soon.

The series, set in the 1930s, was made available on the PBS streaming platform, Passport, which is an online service that can be used on computers, smartphones and through TV apps like Amazon Fire.

Alternatively, local PBS stations tend to air marathons of the latest adaptations.

The first season of All Creatures is also available to stream on Amazon Prime in the US, with a Masterpiece PBS add-on subscription, which costs $5.99 per month after a seven-day free trial.
