BBC Breakfast fans fume 'get on with it' as they complain about Sally and Jon

BBC Breakfast: Jon Kay and Sally Nugent open the show

On Monday morning, BBC Breakfast fans seemed to issue the same complaint about hosts Sally Nugent and Jon Kay. Many took to X to share their thoughts with one pleading for the duo to "get on with" the news coverage.

One fan raged: "bbcbreakfast this is news for 5-year-olds. Silly Sally using that stupid voice again. This is more like Play School Breakfast TV." (sic)

Another agreed: "#bbcbreakfast with Jon Kay and Sally Nugent wouldn't be out of place on CBeebies. They present it as if it's the news for young kids."

"Get on with the news #BBCBreakfast," a third pleaded while a fourth went on: "Could we have actual news and not a marathon plug for a programme on at 8pm tonight please?"

"Christ! Made mistake of watching @BBCBreakfast is garbage! Why are the presenters so childish! They talk to the public as if the audience are about 7 years old! Never again!!" someone else complained. (sic)

However, not everyone shared the same opinions as one fan took to X to praise Sally. They wrote: "Sally Nugent looking good."

Carol and Nina also joined the presenters in the BBC Breakfast studio to share the latest weather and business reports.

Ahead of the programme, Carol took to social media to inform her followers: "Some heavy thundery downpours around this morning.

The Met Office has 2 yellow warnings in force atm. The one across N Ireland expires at 0700. The other across Scotland and N England at 1300."

She concluded: " Not everyone will see one, but if you do you will know about it @BBCBreakfast."

Carol's followers were quick to reply, with one commenting: "Good morning Carol. It's already feeling very warm down here in the Portsmouth area. I hope the folks in Northern Ireland, Northern England and Scotland get some decent weather today too."

Another shared: "The noise in SW Scotland is insane. I’ve never heard anything like it! It’s like an ongoing, incredibly loud, rumble. Woke me up 20 mins ago and still going."

However, someone else asked: "Has the BBC switched back to using Met Office forecasts?"

BBC Breakfast airs daily at 6am on BBC One.
