BBC Breakfast in huge show shake-up as presenter hosts alone
BBC Breakfast's Nina Warhurst found herself flying solo in the latest episode of the morning programme.
On Sunday (August 11), the 43-year-old presenter settled onto the iconic red sofa alone to guide viewers through the day's top international stories.
In a change from usual proceedings, none of her colleagues joined her on screen. The early morning news fixture is typically hosted by Jon Kay and Sally Nugent from Monday to Wednesday, with Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt taking the helm for the latter half of the week, leaving Sundays open for guest presenters.
The solo stint comes shortly after Nina Warhurst couldn't resist poking fun at a fellow presenter on Wednesday's (August 7) show when he unexpectedly said the "c-word" live on air.
During the segment, Ben Thompson and Sarah Campbell were presenting, leading into a discussion about Buy Now, Pay Later options detailed by Nina, who also voiced concerns raised by debt charities along with demands from the newly-ruling Labour Party for stricter controls to protect users of these services, reports the Mirror.

Swiftly jumping in, Nina exclaimed as quoted in the Express: "I can't believe you've mentioned the c-word. It's August.:, prompting Ben to reply, "It's not that long." To which Nina retorted with a hint of jest: "Someone is more organised than I am."
