This Morning's Josie Gibson halts show minutes in as fans complain 'Worst start'

Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle dance on This Morning

Fans of This Morning were left unimpressed on Friday as Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle jumped straight into 90s beats to kick off the show.

Josie was compelled to put a momentary halt to proceedings when her co-host Craig went full throttle, grooving out to his chosen tune.

"Hello and welcome to your Friday's This Morning," Josie greeted as Craig disclosed their motive for the dance: "We do have a reason for doing this, we are kicking off your Friday with some 90s tunes starting with Rhythm of the Night, a favourite of Josie's."

"90s music is simply out of this world," Josie exclaimed before turning to guests Tim and Gyles to ask about their most-loved 90s number.

Tim voiced his love for numerous tracks, yet crowning Soul to Soul's Back to Life as his pick, reports the Mirror.

Gyles shared that he got his groove on to Will Smith's Getting Jiggy With It.

The atmosphere shifted when Craig remarked: "I was going down a very musical path at this stage in my life. There was no pop music. It would have been Nirvana...it would have been Smells Like Teen Spirit."

In an unrestrained bout, Craig hopped around to the tune, leaving Josie looking mortified.

She swiftly intervened, admonishing Craig: "No, oh no, it is too much for me."

Audiences swarmed to X to express their opinions, including a viewer who bemoaned: "#ThisMorning Worst start to a show ever."

One viewer questioned, "Is this the worst opening segment to a This Morning episode in history?" while another lamented: "Unfortunately, you're not hallucinating."

One viewer expressed their frustration, tweeting: "#ThisMorning can the dancing stop now, please," while another questioned the quality of the performance: "Love this tune! The dancing, however!"

Yet, not all viewers were in agreement, with one fan praising the show's start: "Great opening! #ThisMorning."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
