This Morning: Craig Doyle tells Josie Gibson shes's 'gorgeous'

This Morning presenters Craig Doyle and Josie Gibson don't have the "strongest rapport"on screen according to a body language expert. The pair are part of the rotating presenting team who are covering the summer episodes as regular hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard take their seasonal break from the ITV flagship show.

Body language expert Darren Stanton, a former police officer with Derbyshire police with a degree in psychology, claims their chemistry "isn’t the strongest" as their body language "does not align". "Josie and Craig's levels of chemistry aren’t the strongest. We know this from the little eye contact they have with each other.

"We can’t see many tactile moments between them either, which is the complete opposite of Dermot (O'Leary) and Alison (Hammond). Dermot and Alison communicate through lots of tactile gestures.

"They display a level of mischievousness, while Craig and Josie don't. There is a layer to their friendship - and as co-presenters - this makes them come across as more authentic and natural. There is a much deeper friendship, which can be visibly seen on-screen," he said speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo.

“Out of all the presenters, Josie and Craig are the least compatible when you look at the other presenting partnerships on This Morning. When they are presenting together their body language does not match or align.

"Currently, it will be rare to see Josie and Craig mirror each other’s hand movements or gestures with one another. This tells us they are still learning how to communicate with each other,” he observed.

Despite the lack of chemistry Darren says they have a good professional relationship as they understand each others roles and strengths.

“While they don’t seem to have the strongest rapport, Josie and Craig have a good understanding of each other’s roles and are learning to adapt to each of their strengths in presenting.

"Josie takes the lead as she is the more dominant presenter out of the two. She has a bigger personality, and Craig appears to be happy to step aside. He does not show any signs of distress or any micro-expressions of feeling intimidated or uncomfortable when in Josie’s presence.

"This suggests Craig is at ease when he presents with Josie, and he wants her to be the centre of the attention. He tends to fold his arms a lot and interlock his fingers, which are signals that he feels in safe hands with Josie leading,” he explained.

Darren believes this is because: “Craig has not found his feet yet."

"From what we see of Craig, he feels reassured by the fact that Josie is there to step in and carry the show. He is fairly new, so with more time he will find his feet and grow into the role more. As Craig and Josie develop more of a trust, Josie will be able to help bring that confident side out of him,” Darren predicts.

Over the past few days, ITV viewers have seen Josie and Craig take the helm and despite Darren's observations the duo has been a hit with the audience, with many calling for them to become the permanent faces of the show.

One viewer remarked: "Can we just have Craig and Josie, Alison and Dermot to host #thismorning permanently." Another fan suggested: "Should make Craig and Josie permanent." A third viewer shared: "Really like Craig and Josie partnership .. it's been refreshing having different people again these past couple of weeks ..much better than Ben and Cat."
