Our Yorkshire Farm's Clive Owen quit show admitting son Reuben 'doesn't want me'

Our Yorkshire Farm star Clive Owen has revealed he quit the spin-off show with his son Reuben Owen for his son's sake.

The dad-of-nine had shot to fame alongside wife Amanda Owen as the pair invited cameras into their remote Yorkshire Dales farm for the Channel 5 reality show, Our Yorkshire Farm.

But after five series the show was cancelled by Channel 5 following Clive and Amanda's divorce. Instead, the channel ordered a spinoff show starring dad Clive and eldest son Reuben, now 20.

But Clive Owen then revealed he was stepping down from starring in any further episodes of his spinoff show Beyond The Yorkshire Farm: Reuben and Clive.

Clive had starred in three episodes of Beyond The Yorkshire Farm: Reuben and Clive alongside his eldest son Reuben Owen. The spinoff on Channel 5 was broadcast in December 2022.

But Clive has since revealed he will step back from the series and hand it over to his son Reuben to go it alone because Reuben 'doesn't want me on his hands'.

Speaking to Christine Lampard on ITV1's Lorraine, Clive Owen confirmed he is not planning to star in the spinoff again in the near future - but he hasn't ruled out further TV work.

He told her: "We've done this thing with Reuben, it's been great fun working with him. Cos he's crazy too, so we've had a grand time doing it.

"I think I'm stepping back from that now. I think he's gonna go on on his own. Because he doesn't want me on his hands. So, I have no plans to do anything in particular, but you never know, someone might be daft enough to ask me."

The programme attracted 1.8M viewers for Channel 5 and was a solid hit for the channel. Surprisingly, it massively outperformed Amanda Owen's latest show, Real Farming Lives, which attracted about 600,000 viewers for Channel 4's sister channel More 4.

Later on in the interview, Clive admitted to 'making a mess of things' in his relationship with Amanda.

He said: "All I am hearing is poor Clive which is not right. I handled it very badly, the show was such a change in our life and I sadly made a right mess of things and had a massive part to play in our relationship ending."

Since then, Reuben Owen has gone on to star in two series of Reuben Owen: Life In The Dales, with now-ex girlfriend Sarah Dow.

The programme charted the inception of Reuben's digger business and in series two expanded its horizons to include a trip to France and cameos from Our Yorkshire Farm favourites like Reuben's brother Miles Owen, now 18, and his younger brother Sidney Owen.

Channel 5 has not yet confirmed whether Reuben's show will come back again.
