Steve Fletcher has been starring in The Repair Shop since the very beginning and now his love life has been thrown into question by curious fans.

The Repair Shop star Steve Fletcher is a third generation horologist who owns a family-run clock workshop in Oxfordshire with his son Fred, who is following in his footsteps as a junior watchmaker. But while fans are fascinated with his career, many want to know more about his personal life when he isn’t bringing treasured items back to their former glory on the heartwarming BBC series.

The Repair Shop star is in a long-term relationship with partner Mel who he lives with in Witney, Oxfordshire.

Steve has previously shared that if it wasn’t for Mel, he wouldn’t have signed up to The Repair Shop in the first place.

He explained to the BBC: "In 2016 I received an email from a company that I hadn't heard of asking if I would be interested in taking part in a brand new show.

While it isn’t clear if The Repair Shop star Steve Fletcher is married, it is obvious he enjoys a loving relationship with Mel, who played a key role in him joining the BBC show.

Continuing his story of how he joined the show, he said: "Not trusting anything that is on the internet, I nearly deleted it and would have done if my partner, Mel, hadn't stopped me saying that it all looks OK."

He sometimes shares glimpses into their relationship on Instagram with him posting pictures of their weekend together hiking Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons earlier this year.

As well as being in a relationship with Mel, Steve is also the dad to five children, son Fred and four daughters Amelia, Milly and another whose name hasn’t been shared publicly.

Steve is the younger brother of fellow The Repair Shop star Suzie Fletcher, the show’s leather expert.

He inspired her to join the show to help Suzie cope with her grief after losing her husband to pancreatic cancer in 2013.

She explained: "Every time [Steve] called he looked to be having such a good time I jokingly said, 'If they need anyone to do leather I'm your gal.

"I really was joking but after several phone calls and a lot of reassurance from Steve I agreed to give it a go and joined the team [...] I'm so happy I did as this is one of the most enjoyable things I've ever been involved with and it's also helped me through some very dark days."
