ITV The Chase viewers switch off 'dire' episode as they plead 'get this over with'

The Chase: Shaun takes out three players

The Chase viewers all issued the same complaint about a repeat episode of the Bradley Walsh fronted ITV teatime quiz show. Fans took to X to declare it boring and the "worst ever" as the chaser, Shaun "Dark Destroyer" Wallace knocked out every contestant before the final chase.

@janetpascoedean admitted she had given up on the show writing: "Popped back to Olympics bored with this #thechase." @Andi000211 fumed: "What a dire episode. This bloke is a total bore.#thechase."

@pavarottishighc pleaded: "Can we get this over with please Bradley? #TheChase." They also commented: "This ep is boring… #TheChase."

@DrSlicer opined: "This has the makings of the worst episode of #thechase I've ever seen and I've seen some bad ones." Before the end of the show @MattMurkyfuture posted a "Game Over" GIF and wrote: "May as well turn over #thechase."

However, a fan with the handle @Qhancroft actually enjoyed the instalment, chiming in: "I love episodes like this one today! #TheChase."

The episode saw Romzan, 40, a sales development manager from Newcastle, Mapaseka, a 27-year-old dental nurse, Sophie, 32, a council assistant from London and Martin, 56, a magician from Hitchen take on chaser Shaun Wallace in the hopes of winning a cash prize.

However, their efforts got off to a bad start when they mocked him, describing him as statistically the worst of all the chasers. Mapaseka also referred to him as usually stingy with his offers.

Unfortunately, they proved no match for him with Romzan the first player to find himself doing the walk of shame after being caught.

He was quickly followed by Mapaseka and Sophie who both also failed to make it through to the final chase.

This left just Martin to face Shaun. He initially did well gaining £10,000 in his cash builder.

However, when he faced Shaun, he decided to play for the chaser's high offer of £100,000 and found himself easily beaten.

With no player left for the final chase, host Bradley Walsh informed the viewers that they would be having a "Lazarus" round. This little-used element of the show sees one player come back and try to beat the chaser to win the team £1,000 a head.

Martin was selected to play on their behalf but was unable to come back from his earlier defeat and lost a second time, although Shaun conceded he had given, "a quality performance".

The Chase is on ITV daily at 5pm.
