Holly Willoughby makes ITV return in new role after quitting This Morning

Joe Swash says Holly Willoughby would be his celeb 'free pass'

Holly Willoughby is gearing up for a dazzling new gig, joining forces with Stephen Mulhern on ITV for a fresh endeavour.

The beloved presenter, who bid farewell to This Morning in October 2023 after an impressive 14-year stint, is set to grace our screens once more in two primetime specials of the legendary challenge show 'You Bet!' slated for broadcast later this year.

The programme promises high-octane entertainment as members of the public showcase their extraordinary talents to accomplish wildly ambitious challenges, all vying for a hefty cash reward.

A star-studded panel alongside the live audience will be tasked with predicting whether the participants can successfully complete their daunting tasks. Celebrities will accumulate points for each accurate prediction, aided by insights from the audience members.

As the show reaches its climax, the audience casts their votes to crown their preferred challenger, who will walk away with a handsome £10,000, reports The Mirror.

The celebrity amassing the most points secures £10k for a charity of their choice, while the one with the fewest points faces a hilariously entertaining final forfeit.

Holly expressed her enthusiasm about her return to presenting, stating: "I'm so excited to be part of this iconic game show with the fabulous Stephen Mulhern. I'm looking forward to seeing the astonishing skills on show from the challengers and which of our celebrity panellists can come out on top."

Stephen Mulhern expressed his excitement about their upcoming venture, saying: "I loved You Bet! as a kid, so I'm very excited to be hosting this with the wonderful Holly Willoughby. From the big and spectacular to the unique and unexpected, I can't wait to see what extraordinary skills the challengers have up their sleeves."

Following Holly Willoughby's decision to step back from the public eye after Gavin Plumb's arrest and subsequent conviction for soliciting murder and inciting rape and kidnap, there's been much speculation about her return to TV.

It appears that Holly is poised for a comeback, having been lined up to star alongside Bear Grylls in a new Netflix series, requiring her to travel to Costa Rica with a troupe of celebrities.

However, given the rising murder rate in Costa Rica, hitting 17.2 per 100,000 in 2023, up from 11.7 in 2018 as reported by Reuters, Netflix executives are not taking any chances. They're reportedly "investing huge sums" to ensure their new show is a hit while also ensuring the safety of the 43 year old presenter and fellow cast members from any potential dangers.
