Emmerdale confirms Samson Dingle's exit as his fate is revealed

Emmerdale: Samson and Sam Dingle say emotional goodbye

Emmerdale viewers have witnessed the dramatic exit of Samson Dingle from the ITV soap, bringing a thrilling storyline to a close. The character, portrayed by Sam Hall, found himself in hot water after getting involved with local troublemaker Josh Cope (Osian Morgan), leading to his imprisonment.

The pair were implicated in a robbery at The Hide while Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) was on duty, a situation that rapidly escalated.

Following an argument, Samson was accidentally stabbed and subsequently falsely accused Matty of intentional assault, causing a divide within the Dingle family.

Matty suffered a distressing period in jail before Samson confessed the truth, resulting in Matty's release. However, Samson's enormous lie landed him in legal trouble as he attempted to protect Josh.

On Monday (August 5), Samson mustered the courage to confront bully Josh.

His parents, Sam (James Hooton) and Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick), were left shocked when their son violently attacked the thug, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The police arrived at The Woolpack to arrest Samson for his latest offence, and Moira Barton (Natalie J. Robb) could not conceal her satisfaction at the unfolding events.

On Tuesday (August 6), Samson faced trial for perverting the course of justice while he was already in custody for Josh's assault, who has also now been arrested for Matty's wrongful imprisonment.

Lydia later announced to The Woolpack that Samson had been sentenced to four years in prison.

In the concluding scene, Sam expresses his pride in his son, Samson, for being truthful. He also shares his hopes for Samson to find opportunities while incarcerated and anticipates his release in two years - if he behaves.

The father and son share a final emotional embrace, declaring their love for each other through tears before Samson is led away to prison.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays
