The highly anticipated season of Interview with the Vampire is set to hit UK screens on Thursday evening (August 1), with the entire season landing on BBC iPlayer. The series, based on Anne Rice's novel, revolves around an intriguing interview between seasoned journalist Daniel and his subject, Louis, a vampire nearing 150 years old.

The pair had previously conducted an unpublished interview about half a century ago in San Francisco, and now Louis is keen to put the record straight.

Interview with the Vampire unfolds the gripping tale of Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and Claudia (Bailey Bass), their intense love story, their thirst for blood, and the dangers of immortality, as narrated to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian).

Every episode of the second season of Interview with the Vampire will be available from Thursday, August 1. On the same day, the first episode will air at 9pm on BBC Two and continue weekly.

With the announcement of a third season, here's everything we know so far about Interview with the Vampire season 3 with help from the Mirror.

AMC confirmed in June 2024 that Interview with the Vampire was renewed for a third season even before the finale of season 2 aired. AMC has yet to announce a release date, but fans are eagerly awaiting the upcoming season.

The release of Season 2 was delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike in 2022, but fans are hopeful for a quicker release of season 3.

What is the plot of season 3?

Rolin Jones, the mastermind behind Interview with the Vampire, has tantalisingly hinted that season 3 will shift its focus to delve into the character of Lestat, providing a platform for the iconic vampire to share his side of the story. A sneak peek unveiled at Comic Con revealed an extravagant Lestat preparing for an interview with Molloy, in which he startlingly subdues the interviewer using his mental prowess.

The show has not shied away from incorporating significant plot elements from Anne Rice's later novels, including 'The Vampire Lestat', the second book in the series that offers insight from Lestat's viewpoint. It is widely speculated that the upcoming third season will incorporate one particularly intriguing narrative from that book Lestat's rock star persona.

Those Who Must Be Kept. They join Louis, Armand, Molloy, Sam, Raglan, Fareed, and others we can't tell you about yet on a sexy pilgrimage across space, time and trauma. No Auto-Tuning. No Trigger Warnings. All Feels Amplified."
