GMB's Ranvir Singh makes plea live on air as she admits 'I needed a hug during break'

GMB: Ranvir 'needed a hug' during The Chase appearance

Good Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh has opened up about her hair-raising time on Celebrity The Chase, confessing it was 'the scariest thing' she's ever done and admitted to needing 'a hug during the break'.

On Wednesdays edition of the hit ITV breakfast programme, 46 year old Ranvir and her fellow presenter Ed, aged 57, took the reins. They were joined by Scarlette Douglas, the show's entertainment expert, and Jenny Ryan, also known as The Vixen from The Chase, who spilled the beans on her exciting new project away from the staple ITV quiz show.

The brainy Chaser will be captivating audiences across the UK with her upcoming tour named 'Out of the Box', showcasing her talents from September to November 2024 - kicking off in Lichfield before culminating in Stafford.

In a thrilling reveal, Jenny detailed how her nationwide tour would shed the "stern" veneer viewers are accustomed to seeing on The Chase. Explaining her leap into a brand-new venture, she stated: "We took the show to Edinburgh Fringe last year really on sort of a whim.

"It's a big risk to take something like this, as presenters know, after a stern role and you try something new. It's a bit of a challenge for people to change their expectations and perceptions of you."

Jenny went on to discuss how putting herself in the limelight revealed a different facet of her personality one that the public isn't used to.

Candidly reflecting, she continued: "Putting myself out there to show a softer side of me putting everything out there, my background, everything... was a bit of a risk. We sold out [at the Fringe] and we got such excellent feedback," reports the Mirror.

Ranvir opened up about her daunting experience on the programme: "Do you ever feel sorry for any of the contestants because, having been on it and people always ask should I do The Chase and I say 'don't do it' because it is the scariest thing you will ever do."

She went on to discuss the pressure of the spotlight: "You must see people who think they are going to be absolutely brilliant on the show that just turn to mush as soon as the doors open and they see you."

Jenny Ryan acknowledged the nerve-wracking nature of quiz shows: "It does happen even to people who are used to being under studio conditions, people absolutely melt because it is completely out of the ordinary and comfort zone being asked to answer questions."

Ranvir noted the intimidating setup: "Obviously you are high up and literally looking down so it can feel really intimidating but it's a great show."

Then Ranvir added with a hint of playful challenge: "Are there any quizzes that you find stressful to go on because if there is I'd like to see you on it and get my revenge!"
