EastEnders' Reiss death 'sealed' as Phil makes jaw-dropping discovery

Reiss Colwell's world is set to implode on EastEnders, as he faces the wrath of Phil Mitchell after last week's shocking storyline that saw his wife Debbie meet a grisly end.

With the police probing Debbie's untimely demise and a post-mortem looming, Reiss is fraught with worry the cause of death might point directly to suffocation.

Despite Sonia Fowler's attempts at reassurance that a post-mortem is standard procedure, Reiss is on edge. Meanwhile, Eve Unwin stumbles upon Reiss with Debbies wedding ring at the cafe, heightening his desperationespecially when Phil comes knocking with demands for payback on a dodgy investment.

Phil gives Reiss a mere 24 hours to cough up the cash, leaving him scrambling for solutions and fibbing to Sonia about his plans. In a recent revelation, Jonny Freeman, the actor behind Reiss, admitted his character remains optimistic amidst spiralling debts.

Freeman disclosed: "He's scrambling around but he's optimistic that it's all going to work out. I think there's optimism, but also naivety, and obviously as things start to creak and crumble, Reiss starts to realise that he's doing things for desperate measure.

"I suppose through all of it, he's losing a sense of his moral compass as he's trying to do right by Debbie, and he's also trying to do right by Sonia."

It seems Reiss has developed a pattern of deceit, having already attempted to con another Walford localSharon, reports the Mirror.

"Sharon explains how much she values Reiss' support and notes how highly Keanu regarded him, and how his faith in Reiss secured him the job," he added.

"Reiss instantly regrets his actions and backtracks by vowing to help Sharon find a loophole to avoid the debt, but Reiss is out of options, and soon realises that he has no other option but to continue to scam her."

As the plot thickens, Reiss could be skating on thin ice if Phil gets wind of the true extent of his financial misdeeds. With Phil known for not taking kindly to those who cross him, one has to wonder if Reiss has just written his own exit story.
