This Morning's Alison Hammond shuts down co-star after snub 'That's not very nice'

TM: Alison tells Martin to keep his 'cuddles' after remark

Alison Hammond was left gobsmacked on This Morning when Martin Lewis, the Money Saving Expert, delivered a sharp jibe at her expense.

The beloved 49-year-old presenter was in the midst of welcoming Martin to the show when he joked he was deliberately avoiding the studio to steer clear of her. Alison, taken aback by his blunt remark, retorted: "That's not very nice."

Tensions rose as fellow presenter Joel Dommett, 39, squirmed uncomfortably, unsure of how to handle the situation. Realising he may have gone too far, Martin, who is no stranger to the show or Alison, seemed to acknowledge his misstep.

In an attempt to make amends, Martin extended an offer of a "cuddle" to his colleague. However, Alison, feeling slighted, sharply responded: "You can keep your cuddles after that."

Despite the initial sting, the atmosphere lightened and Alison, ever the professional, brushed off the incident as the segment wrapped up. She playfully warned Martin: "I will be giving you a hug when I next see you, whether you like it or not," reports the Mirror.

Last week, the pair had previously been thrown into disarray due to technical difficulties while they were live, attempting to host a call-in for viewers seeking financial advice from Martin.

The show was riddled with technical hitches, starting with Martin's off-centre appearance via a home link.

Dermot O'Leary admitted the confusion on air, saying: "We don't have any communication of who you're going to be speaking to."

He then attempted to connect with another guest, asking: "Do we have Eileen?" only to inform viewers: "Sadly, not no."

Alison took control, trying to navigate the phone-in segment, but ended up referring to a previous day's caller, as Dermot clarified: "Nope, that's yesterday, her sister isn't coming to her wedding."

With Martin still waiting on-screen, Alison addressed him directly, saying: "We haven't got anything on our screen yet. How are you anyway bubs?"

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10am.
