Major filming update for The Boys spin-off Gen V after death of star
Gen V, the spin-off to the popular show The Boys, has delivered a significant update on its filming status, as fans eagerly anticipate the release of its second season.
The spin-off made its debut before the fourth season of The Boys was released. It is set in the same universe as the main show, but follows students at the fictional Godolkin University, which trains up new superheroes.
Fans are just learning that production on Gen V's second season kicked off just two months ago. It follows a long wait for an update following the tragic death of one of the show's stars, Chance Perdomo, who played Andre Anderson, the popular student with magnetic manipulation capabilities.
It is now emerging that the show might actually be ready for a release next year, much to the surprise of fans. Vernon Sanders, an executive at the Amazon MGM Studios, confirmed that they have been working on the second season of Gen V for around eight weeks now, reports the Mirror.

They've had their hardships, obviously, with the loss of Chance, but ultimately, I think all fans of The Boys are really going to love that second season and stay tuned on whether there's more."
The news came after the The Boys' final episode of Season 4 released on Amazon Prime, leaving fans bereft. The latest season maintained its popularity amongst viewers, with Karl Urban's Billy Butcher and Antony Starr's Homelander continuing their on-screen feud.
Based on the best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys focuses on a group of vigilantes who are hell-bent on exposing the truth about powerful superhero group The Seven and the multi-billion dollar corporation behind them, Vought. According to the official synopsis, the world is teetering on the edge in season four, with Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) inching closer to the Oval Office under the iron grip of Homelander (Starr), who is tightening his hold on power.
