Netflix's Cobra Kai Season 6: Fans 'work out' Kenny Payne's return after major clue

Cobra Kai season 6: Trailer for part 1 on Netflix

Cobra Kai enthusiasts have been left hanging as they eagerly anticipate the release of the latter half of season six on Netflix, but that hasn't stopped them from concocting a plethora of theories in the interim.

The freshest fan speculation has led some to assert they've "worked out" Kenny Payne's (played by Dallas Dupree Young) return to the ranks of Cobra Kai.

This comes on the heels of the series' villain John Kreese (portrayed by Martin Kove) apparently persuading Tory Nichols (acted by Peyton List) to come back to the fold of Cobra Kai.

Following the death of Tory's mother after a prolonged illness, she experiences devastating grief and decides to pour her sorrow into karate and the forthcoming Sekai Tekai tournament.

Yet, when an anticipated match with Samantha LaRusso (Mary Mouser) falls through, Tory stuns her comrades by rejoining forces with Kreese.

With Tory's sensational departure, Sam steps up as the new women's captain, igniting rampant speculation among viewers about the unfolding drama.

A Reddit user has put forth a theory suggesting that Kenny might also make a dramatic return to Cobra Kai alongside Tory.

User Top_Weight898 speculated: "Something that just comes into my mind. What if Kenny rejoins Cobra Kai too?"

They continued: "Kenny went away thinking Anthony put laxatives in his drink (which he didn't). And he didn't come back afterwards."

The user also noted: "Also, for cobra kai you saw only 4 fighters in the last scene (Tory, and 3 Korean fighters) what if Kenny also joins Cobra kai again? It could be possible, as Kreese was in America to convince Tory.

"He might have also convinced Kenny. Well we'll see but this might be a possibility. It would be very dumb in my opinion." (sic)

Other fans voiced their thoughts on the character, with one stating: "I was not a Kenny fan these past 2 seasons but d**n I feel like I have after the 4th episode they brought him back (to a supposed better dojo meaning no breaking rules and doing the right thing) just to thrown out for a laxatives is actually mind boggling." (sic)

"Also I saw the Tory switch happening from a mile away but it just hurts to actually watch it happen I'm a firm believer that Tory is a better character then Sam not as in the show I mean judge of character usually when her anger is in check." (sic)

Reflecting on the season 6 episodes so far, another added: "Season was fine. Kenny should have been in the 6 over Dimitri. Devon shouldn't be in there either. Tori's heel turn was too obvious." (sic)

Will Kenny make a dramatic return to Cobra Kai in the next instalment of the Netflix show? We'll just have to wait and see.

The first five episodes of Cobra Kai season 6 are available to stream exclusively on Netflix. Part two will air on November 15, 2024.
